May 14, 2010 (Washington Bangla Radio) Ogo Bodhu Sundori (2010) is a new Kolkata Bengali film starring acclaimed singer Babul Supriyo a leading movie hero role for the first time, paired with beautiful Tollywood actresses Sreelekha Mitra and Monami Ghosh. The 2010 adaptation of the 1980 Uttam Kumar-Sumitra Mukherjee-Moushumi Chatterjee classic is directed by Sunando Mitra. The release date of the film is June 4, 2010.
The 1980 movie Ogo Badhu Sundori remains a Bengali film classic, and was directed by Salil Dutta and starred Uttam Kumar, Moushmi Chatterjee, Sumitra Mukherjee, Santosh Dutta, Ranjit Mullik, Bikash Roy and others. Bappi Lahiri's music from the 1980 film remains unforgettable. Bappi Lahiri is also the director of the 2010 adaptation. The songs remain the same, but rendered by Alka Yagnik, Shreya Ghoshal, Anwesha and the hero Babul Supriyo himself.
