Easy on the ears!

The audio of “Marupadiyum Oru Kadhal” scores with melody
The audio of Connect Film Media’s “Marupadiyum Oru Kadhal”, produced by Vasu Bhaskar and Seema Manimegalai, was released recently. Tamil industry bigwigs K. Bhagyaraj and Abirami Ramanathan, along with the film’s cast and crew, were on the dais.
Aniruth, who’s acted in Malayalam films such as “Hello”, Mayuram” and “Sketch”, Josna, daughter of yesteryear actor Saroja, and Vani Kishore, play the lead. Vadivelu, Suman, Sanjana, Devaraj and Kalpana too form the cast. Camera is handled by D. Kannan, and editing by Raja Mohammad. Story, screenplay, dialogue and direction are by Vasu Bhaskar, who’s produced “Vedam”.
The film begins in London and ends in Chennai. The director Vasu Baskar says the love story has no villain, but the lovers cannot unite for various reasons.
There are eight songs in the film, and composer Srikanth Deva has lent them all a melodious touch. ‘May Maadham’ is sung by Benny Dayal, and written by Na. Muthukumar. ‘Kannanai Thedi’ mesmerises us with its Carnatic touch, lyricist Vaali’s words and in Shreya Ghoshal’s voice. Another nice number is ‘Ullam Kollai Ponen’, written by Vasu Kokila and sung by Shankar Mahadevan. ‘Kadhala Kadhala’ is written by Vaali and sung by new find Shravya, who’s done a tidy good job. The same number has a shorter version too. ‘Kalloori Katre’ is a good one, sung by Karthik and written by Vaali. A seductive folk number, ‘Salakku Salakku’ is written by Kabilan and sung by Udith Narayanan. The album also features the theme song. Interestingly, there are half-a-dozen pleasing instrumental tracks.
